JHOMONSUGI（KUSUKAWA Route）
YAKUSHIMA where mountain of altitude 1000m or more is called alias "
Alps in sea" from there are 40.
It introduces a climbing mountain of some mountains where such
YAKUSHIMA is represented.

It walks 3.4km from KUSUKAWA Pavement in the farming route and the
woodland path.
The subtropics vegetation of Hego and Cawazimo is seen in the
population woods around the woodland path.
The climbing mountain road starts from the woodland path terminal,
and it enters the woods of the population of the cryptomeria from 20
to about the 30th grader.
There are a lot of rolling stones, and it is not easy to walk in
Pavement in the vicinity of the natural forest entrance. It is told
that this was an important climbing mountain road used to carry out
the Gaku joining wood for a long time though the stone pavement
remains in some places while climbing.

Sanbonsugi

SANBONSUGI that forms a line on smooth ground where it was finished
to climb the climbing mountain road from the starting point for about
two hours soars. Altitudes are in 550m and the lowest place in the
named Japan cedar. 3 and the feature are good, and cryptomerias that
seem to be the cryptomerias. The festival god is enshrined between
the cryptomeria and the cryptomeria.
It is 10 around SANBONSUGI from here seeing Takagi such as Sdagei,
Iskino, the pinko hornbeam, Himeshara, Yamazacra, and Harigiri It
goes out to the town road through the rule mountain dam when climbing
it in minutes.
The surrounding around here is divided into SHIRATANI PARK and is
YAKUSHIMA forest of recreational use.

Shiratani Park

SHIRATANI PARK is a forest of the moss that is located from
Miyacoreura to the place of 12km, and scattered along a white
mountain stream. The forest of this moss has particularly shot beauty
in YAKUSHIMA.
The virgin forest such as the charm Teha forests and Yaku Japan
cedars of YAKUSHIMA including a beautiful mountain stream in an
altitude 800 meters, 424 hectares in the area, and white mountain
streams can be easily appreciated. It is not though the moss that
twines even around the trunk and the branch is only splendidly good.

Yayoisugi

About 20 from the plaza of SHIRATANI PARK It is in minutes and above
sea level 710m.
It is said that the person will visit a lot in the Yaku Japan cedar
that exists in YAKUSHIMA.
3000 presumption age of a tree. The cryptomeria material was used so
as not to step on the root of YAYOISUGI in the Forestry Agency in
February, 1995 and Pavement was maintained.

Hiryuotoshi
飛流おとし |
There is a waterfall of "HIRYUOTOSHI" that makes a dynamic sound in the
left hand of Pavement, flows, and falls.
A lot of volume of waters are the best viewpoints in SHIRATANI PARK at
the dry season of the summer time. Especially, there is Szcan in the
spray of the waterfall that scatters in white at the summer time, and
the heat is forgotten.

Virgin forest Pavement

It enters Virgin forest Pavement when not extending from HIRYUOTOSHI in the
SATSUKI suspension bridge and climbing it straight. The conifer of the
cryptomeria, the fir, and the hemlock fir mixes with the warm temperate zone
tree with broad leaves woods, and lower vegetation is Yutaka. It covers from ..
humidity.. ..height.. especially to the position where the rock and the trunk
tree in surface of the earth are high with Yomigaecoke, and one green color
forest is created.
Virgin forest Pavement along includes NIDAIOOSUGI, SANBONSUGI, SANBONYARISUGI, and BUGYOSUGI,
etc.
Moreover, there are KUGURISUGI and NANAHONSUGI in the vicinity of SHIRATANI HUT.

Shiratani Hut

There is SHIRATANI HUT of a ferroconcrete making in above sea level 82
5m.
There is neither manager though there are six lodges in YAKUSHIMA.
It camps from the standpoint of valuable forest ecosystem protection
as a rule, and ..becoming empty.. situation of mountain Tomari will
use these lodges mountains part YAKUSHIMA.
The capacity of SHIRATANI HUT is 40 people, and has the user every
day in November since May. Especially, there are a lot of use of the
group such as students for the period of summer vacation.

Tsuji Pass

NANAHONSUGI passes from SHIRATANI HUT, and about 20 It arrives at TSUJI PASS of
above sea level 980m when it finishes climbing a little sudden minutes Pavement.
There are a lot of vicinity of TSUJI PASS and are a lot of Tstitstiki and small
SUGI in the Pavement place along railway-tracks in SHIRATANI PARK though even
TSUJI PASS enters SHIRATANI PARK.
Descending leads to the truck road when TSUJI PASS is passed.
Tree buried in soil？
Yaku SUGI deforested before 300 years by the old one
The stump is indicated, and what buried in the soil is not meant.
It is seen in the cryptomeria woods without this old stump decaying
and it is called Tstitstiki from.

Rock of tsuji

5 from TSUJI PASS There is a big rock in the place in which it descended in
minutes. The rock under is the best for there is a big space, and
surpassing Ametsyu.
YAMAGURUMA, SAKURATSUTSUJI, NANAKAMADO, and SAKAKI, etc. have grown on the rock.
There is a valley in nearby from the ridge soon though it is immediate, and the
brooklet of water is heard.
The 30th grader man-made forest of Kon appears when descending here further
Pavement.
Mt.MIYANOURA can be hoped for from above sea level 800m.

Sandaisugi三代杉・KUSUKAWA Divergence

SANDAISUGI is SUGI where it keeps living three parent and child generations
incessantly, and an unusual, valuable existence also in the island.
About 40 from TSUJI PASS When minutes descends, it is truck road of
above sea level 710m.
It is faced with the route that comes from ARAKAWA here.
Anbou river flows to be near, and SATSUKI is in full bloom from June
through July in the river beach.

It climbs OOKABU Pavement, and it is 25minutes, and a big tree for the
first time that can meet first first.
Big tree of height23m and Surroundings12m with power obviously
.. Presumption age of a tree is said 2000 and covered with the mosses such
as YAMAGURUMA, SAKURATUTUJI, and NANAKAMADO near the root.

Uilson stock

Appearance of Uilson stock that is enclosed by grove that pierces to
heaven in Kosugi woods of altitude 1030m when climbing it from
OKINASUGI in 10minutes and pauses.
In a big stock of Surroundings13m,
The inside rots by the area of about ten mats soft part minutes in
the center part, and makes a wide cave. It can command a view from
the inside of the sky.

Daiousugi
大王杉 |
About 45minutes stands from Uilson stock in the steep slope of the climbing
mountain road right hand of above sea level 1190m by DAIOUSUGI when climbing
it. There is a crack in three places in the root, and the inside is a
considerably big cave. height24.7m､Surroundings

DAIOUSUGI was called the maximum big tree in YAKUSHIMA and was symbol
existence until JHOMONSUGI was discovered.
Trampling down the root etc. are feared, and the upper part of the DAIOUSUGI
root has been maintained to make a detour now before though the climbing
mountain road went. It is in the world natural heritage region here.

Meotosugi

MEOTOSUGI that stands happily hand in hand in climbing mountain of about 3
minutes is seen from DAIOUSUGI. Otocosgi of the right hand is height22.9m,
and Surroundings10.9m.
Onnasgi of the left hand has height25.5m and Surroundings5.8m. NANAKAMADO
etc. are parasitic on the tying hand (branch).

Jhomonsugi

It arrives at JHOMONSUGI. The magnificence is a masterpiece as for the
seen one. It is power that covers because it is even if soaring on the
slope and leaves. It looks at from the observatory for the protection
of the root.

been formally decided by the influence of Typhoon No.4 July 24, 2007 though a part of
ARAKAWA line was a suspension of traffic because of the sudden fall to doing JHOMONSUG
